Foxgloves

How lucky am I that Hyde Hall, part of the Royal Horticultural Society, is only about a 20 minute drive from where I live? It’s such a great space – not only to take the children to, with its vast open spaces and adventure playground, but it’s jam packed with so many different varieties of flowers and herbs which is both a feast for the eyes and senses.

At the moment, the foxgloves are in abundance, growing to great heights and in a lovely variety of colours. Named because their petals look like the fingers of a glove, my favourite shade is the coral, but the most widely seen are the pale pink. Foxgloves are a great addition to bouquets to add that focal point and height but I particularly love to see them in gardens, they really add to that English country garden vibe.

Friday 5

Here’s the five things that are on my radar this week…

Peonies: With June being their prime season, i’ve already started to notice less peonies around, my favourite flower, so good while they’re around, until next year, beautiful (When I’ll hopefully have grown my own!)

Beauty Pie: I’ve been a member of Beauty Pie for a few months now and am really enjoying getting such premium products at a fraction of the price, especially now i’m on Mat leave! I use the One Palette Wonder on a daily basis and i’m also loving the Smart Powder Blush in Peachy Dreams for summer.

Sex Education on Netflix: My husband and I have binge watched Sex Education this week…I really liked it, but I couldn’t understand why it seemed to be set in the seventies (The decor, fashion) but was totally current (Smartphones, cultural references) Totally love Maeve though.

Al Fresco dinners: Now BBQ season is officially here we’ve had a few dinners outside, but my ultimate fave is a BBQ. Here’s to many more over the next few weeks.

Podcasts: These are such a great way of listening to something really interesting while getting things done (like the ironing!) they’re making an otherwise boring chore easier. At the moment Deliciously Ella and Happy Mum Happy Baby with Giovanna Fletcher are my go-to.
